HS Refuel Update

Hey all, I hope your week is going great! HS Refuel leaves this Friday at 5:00p! I can’t believe it has come this quick. Your student needs to be at the Rock at 4:30p. You can find any info you need HERE at the bottom of the page. The plan is to leave out at 5:00p. We will stop in Rome for dinner at the Chick-Fil-A. Remember, your student will need dinner money for this one meal.

Unfortunately, Covid has come to the Toney residence. The only thing this changes about the trip is that I will be unable to go. Garrett Eason, who is our College Pastor, Recreation and Sports Director, as well as our Student Intern will oversee the trip. Garrett spends time every week with our students and leaders. Before transitioning to his current roles he served as a high school guys Sunday school teacher. Garrett has not only my trust and the trust of the entire staff, but also the trust of the Rock leaders going on the trip. Garrett along with our great team of leaders will do a great job in keeping our students safe as well as helping them take their next step with Christ. There is a very slight possibility of winter weather this weekend between Saturday and Monday in Lafayette, Georgia. I have been in contact with the owners of the camp and they have assured us that the chances of a power outage is very minimal. In the event of a power outage, they have generators to keep everyone warm. If roads are even remotely dangerous for travel on Monday morning as the group heads back, the group will remain there until safe to do so. We will keep all of you updated if there are any other changes to the weekend.

Just a reminder, please make sure your student is feeling well before sending them on the trip. We want to ensure the trip goes well and everyone comes back safe and well. As I said in a previous email, if your student becomes sick during the trip you will be responsible in picking him or her up to keep leaders and students safe.
