Spring Happenings

Hello all, I hope you are doing well! I can't believe we are already halfway through February! I just wanted to pop in and give you a little bit of info for the next few months!

GIMC (March 4-5) - This is our annual missions conference. We have our supported missionaries from all over the world come and join us during this weekend.

Three great ways for you and your students to engage this weekend is:

  • Saturday AM outreach... We go into our community to share the Good News of Christ and invite others to come to our Easter service.

  • Saturday PM In-Home Gatherings... Each Sunday School class is assigned a missionary for the weekend. It is during this time that we will gather to hear from our missionaries and spend intimate time getting to know them.

  • Sunday Morning Sunday School... During the Sunday School hour we will meet together in the sanctuary to hear a panel of missionaries.

If you have any questions at all about GIMC weekend, feel free to reach out!

DNOW (March 17-19) - This is a weekend event where churches across West Georgia come together on Roopville Road’s campus to spend time studying Scripture, worshiping, small groups and playing games. This overnight weekend event is for middle and high school students. Students will arrive at 6P on Friday night and stay in host homes through Sunday morning. After Sunday morning service, students will head back home. The cost is $35. You can already register your student HERE. If you are interested in being a host home for students and leaders, please let me know!

Parenting Class (Begins March 1) - Parenting is hard, it is harder alone and with no direction. Ryan Stewart, who is our Education and Discipleship Director, will be teaching a Wednesday night class on through Paul David Tripp's Parenting: 14 Gospel Principles That Can Radically Change Your Family.

Below is a summary of the study:

Have you ever thought of parenting as your calling? In the midst of folding laundry, coordinating carpool schedules, and breaking up fights, many parents get lost. Feeling pressure to do everything “right” and raise up “good” children, it’s easy to lose sight of our ultimate purpose as parents in the quest for practical tips and guaranteed formulas. In this life-giving book, Paul Tripp offers parents much more than a to-do list. Instead, he presents us with a big-picture view of God’s plan for us as parents. Outlining fourteen foundational principles centered on the gospel, he shows that we need more than the latest parenting strategy or list of techniques. Rather, we need the rescuing grace of God―grace that has the power to shape how we view everything we do as parents.

Senior Weekend (May 20-21) - This is a weekend full of celebration for Seniors. They have worked so hard to get to where they are and we want to celebrate God's grace in their lives and their dedication! On Saturday morning we will gather for a home-cooked breakfast together. From there we will head to a day full of adventure and return late afternoon. Sunday morning the seniors will be recognized for all their accomplishments as well as their future plans. You can go ahead and sign your senior up for the weekend HERE. (All seniors must fill out the form whether they plan to participate in the Saturday celebrations to be recognized on Sunday morning.)

Pursing the Rock Podcast - Did you know that we have a podcast? Weekly we publish a podcast to help church members grow in their faith and help answer questions believers and nonbelievers have! You can check it out for yourself HERE.

Well, that is all for now. If you have any questions or need anything at all please reach out to me at andrew@roopvilleroad.org
