The Fall Happenings!
Hey friends! I hope you are doing great!
We had an awesome night in the Rock last night as we looked at Ephesians 6:1-4; how the gospel impacts our relationship with our parents! Did you know you can find all of the Rock sermons HERE!
I encourage you to continuously ask your students (or share with your parents) how things are going in the Rock. More importantly, though, what the sermon was that each Wednesday. This will help you get a feel for the Rock and also encourage the students to be more mindful of what they are learning!
What's Up?
We have a ton of things going on over the next several months that we are super excited about! Check them out below!
RockFeast... on November 16th we have our 9th Annual RockFeast! 9 years!! That's awesome! Last year we had around 110 come and share a meal with us. The original heart is still the same for RockFeast, to gather as friends and family and share a wonderful meal together. There are many students that we minister to that do not get to celebrate with their own families in this way. It is a joy to do this together. Please sign-up for something(s) to bring. You can do that HERE!The parents have always showed out and I know you will do it again!
TurkeyBowl - The Sunday after Thanksgiving, Nov.7, as we are all settled back into our normal schedule we will have our Annual TurkeyBowl. This is a flag football game that all are welcome to play! We will have a sign-up in the next few weeks! Be on the lookout for any info!
Refuel - This year we are doing something a little bit different with Refuel! One of my biggest hearts for the Rock is for it to be a place where relationship are built. These relationships I pray turn into influential, discipleship relationships. Specifically, I want to see a time for our student ministry when the high school students pour into the middle school students. These overnight trips are some of the greatest ways this happens. Thus, we are going to do Refuel all together. Refuel for all will happen on MLK weekend (Jan. 13-16). The cost is $150/student. This covers rooming, meals and shirt. At our new location, Fort Mountain Retreat Center, there are also activities that can be added to the weekend; such as: ropes course, paintball, high-swing etc. However, these must be purchased before hand. You can register for Refuel and those extras HERE. Please be in prayer for Refuel!
NEXT CAMP - Summer is just around the corner! Our summer camp dates are already set. Mark your calendars for June 26-30!
Pursuing the Rock Podcast (PRP) - Garrett and I have been doing a new podcast (PRP)! We have been working through the Baptist Faith and Message 2000, which is the statement of faith for the Southern Baptist Convention. Here we work through what we believe as Christians and Baptists. You can find that easily on Apple Music, Spotify, and many other platforms. Be sure to check out the special episode we did live in Ecuador with one of our new friends.
Well, that is enough for now. I am thankful to serve our Lord and His church along with you. If there is ever anything I can do to serve you in a greater way, please let me know.
By grace,
Andrew
