Merry Christmas! Better get used to seeing this as many have already started putting up their trees and the political ads have given way to Christmas commercials. You've been warned! But I am a bit curious. How many of your are purists and put the tree up after Thanksgiving and how many of you will have it up before the turkey is cooked? Just curious...I don't suppose there is a right or wrong considering some never actually take their decorations down. Either way, Happy Halloween, Happy Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and while we're at it.....Happy Valentine's Day!
Refuel is going to be here before we know it and we are attempting to get some good head counts. So if you plan on attending we really need to know. If you're not sure what Refuel is there is good news....we have a page dedicated to this amazing trip and encourage you to go and check it out. If you have questions please call or email and we'll work together to ensure your student is on this trip!

Turkey & Turtlenecks
November 19th The Rock SM will celebrate thanksgiving together, as a big family. This is a recipe for disaster and lack of food but we're willing to take a chance, have some fun, share a meal, and get to know each other over a turkey leg. There are a couple of things we'll need help with.
Something this neat, big is hard to do and there is no way 1 or 4 people can pull it off. We need your help so please let us know how you'd like to get involved.
The forgiveness of sins.....that moment of relief when you realize that all the wrongs have been made right. That somehow, someway, you've been released and are now free. All the guilt, hauntings, lack of peace now subsides to freedom, peace, joy and rest.
The Apostle's Creed includes the statement "I believe in the forgiveness of sins." Such a seemingly small thing to include in such a big document until you realize and come face to face with what it actually means.
I could type out the sermon and big point again and even go into detail on some of the sermon...but I won't. Such a good, yet challenging, night. I've included the notes from the sermon. Typically I include my original notes from Monday but today I've scanned the final copies. These are the notes I held and have had an opportunity to read over, mark up, add details or even trim out some things. So many times I sit, trim, pray over, and simply agonize over what we're going to study. I take this very seriously. I spend the same amount of time on these sermons as any other. Our time together on Wednesdays is a highlight for me and the very foundation of what we are at The Rock SM.
This series is one of huge value to us as followers and to the seeker who is trying to find out where they are. At the end of the day we've had the opportunity to see some very foundational things regarding our belief in God. At the heart of this document is the ability to stand free and righteous before a holy God.
Our doing is worthless without God's doing. Thank you God for your doing!
Why a blog?
A great way for parents and ministry to connect and continue the conversation of what's going on at The Rock.
