Good morning! Good crowd last night but missed many of our students involved with tryouts or simply the busyness of life! We are excited so many of our Rock students are involved so heavily in their schools, community and church. We are no doubt more busy now than we ever have been. And for the most part next week seems busier. Busyness is not a bad thing but something that can easily become bad. It becomes bad as the busyness replaces closeness with our Savior or a lack of dependence on Him. This pace bodes well for future accomplishments, scholarships, jobs or other pursuits but I urge us all to keep the main thing the main thing. If our pursuits of future accomplishments replace the glory of God as the main thing we're in serious trouble.
Just a simple encouragement as we go and do.
The above thought is really a reflection of last night. I have attached the sermon notes but one phrase that came out of last night is not included in the notes. BE YOU - THERE.
One of the prevailing thoughts of the book of Titus is for believers to go and do. As we go and do as followers of Christ there is something bigger going on than our accomplishments. Freedom in Christ takes the pressure of getting life right. Meaning there is no perfect job, future husband/wife, location to live. The pressure is relieved as we simply know Christ and follow Christ....then we are free to go and live....to be you, there.
This is the heart of last night and the heart of Titus. The only way to turn a wicked place full of liars around is for believers to live like believers wherever they are. It's really that simple. So go and do and then BE YOU, THERE.
A couple of events coming up soon.
Why a blog?
A great way for parents and ministry to connect and continue the conversation of what's going on at The Rock.
