Spring is coming and summer is close behind! Our next big event is DNOW. This is coming up March 11th weekend and we need host homes. If you are interested please let me know. Check out our DNOW page for more details. For now we need names, shirt sizes and starting next week we need to begin gathering the money ($25).
We also have two mission trips this summer, Roatan and Buffalo.
THE CROSS (Last Night)
The Rock last night concentrated on the cross of Christ. This "event" is the most pivotal in all of human history. Our devotions this week will look at the details of the cross. Last night we really wanted to look at the big picture and answer this question; why did Jesus die? Through Scripture reading, a song, and a video we wanted students to be faced with the reality that Jesus dying brought life to millions.
My heart is this. We want students to know that the cross was an event with huge implications. Ultimately we are responsible for Jesus being on the cross. Our sin put Him there and ultimately He gave His life as a ransom for all. Here's the question...Is the cross some myth to us? Is it a good story that isn't necessarily true? Is it a reality to me? Is it what defines me or is just something that may or may not have happened? Do our students live differently because of Jesus....because of the cross? Do I live differently? Attached are the notes from last notes although they'll look a bit different. I also encourage you to watch the videos below to get the full picture. ![]()
These videos served great purpose last night.
1. "WHY DID JESUS HAVE TO DIE? Sometimes it's good to hear what our neighbors think. in hearing this we are awakened to the great need to share the gospel while also causing us to also answer the question. 2. Mark Dever - A great, Biblical response to this question. This gives wisdom and strengthens our head. 3. "How can it be" - A great opportunity to stand still and know that He is God. This gives encouragement and strengthens our heart and leads us to worship.
