3/4/21 Weekly Update

Good morning, happy March!   Let's jump right to it today.

Coming Up...

  • CUPCAKE CHASE - This Saturday:   Many of you are running in the cupcake chase at CMS this Saturday.  RRBC and The Rock SM will have a table set up to love on folks and let them know about the church and our big Easter Weekend coming up.  We'd love for everyone to stop by and say hello!  Help us at the table, hand our cards, smile and wave.  However you can help, we'd love to see you.
  • DNOW (one day) March 13th  - Believe it or not, this is coming up next weekend.  We've scaled down DNOW to a one day event.  Essentially they get more sleep and stay together longer on Saturday.  Win/win?    We need students to register/pay.  To do this please follow THIS LINK.
  • Flowers & Frisbee - March 21st - As mentioned last night, this is simply a day to get together and have some fun.  Great relationships first start in simply being together.  This has morphed from "frisbee in the fall" to "frozen frisbee" so we thought the dawn of spring needed a new title, thus "flowers & frisbee."  It's just a name, we will not be picking flowers, growing flowers or delivering flowers.  As a matter of fact, the last time we were together, a game of kickball erupted, and nothing was frozen.  All that to say, it's not so much about the what as the why.  Our why? We just want to provide a simple way for students to get together, play some games, and have some fun.

Last Night

We began a new series last night called RED FLAGS.  This series will help students identify how we can best use the good gifts/things God has given.  Trends, Time, Talents, Technology, Tribes are all good things.  But just like any other good thing, there are risks.  How can we best identify the red flags of these good gifts?  How can we MOST glorify God in this life?

I said this last week and again last night, GOOD IS THE ENEMY OF GREAT.  God has great things prepared for his people.  If we simply establish good/average/ok as the pattern we may miss the great.  Red Flags help us identify trouble.  It's a warning that while the surface seems fine, there is danger lurking underneath.   Our hope is to help students see the great in these good gifts but seek wisdom on the potential snares that await.

Below is the video from last night as well as our notes.
We hope you have a great weekend and we'll plan to see everyone Sunday morning!
