Last NightWe officially kicked off the new year last night. How do we know? The annual longest line ever for snow cones! It was a good night and we had a packed house and colorful mouths by the end of the night. We did open the Word and begin our new series "Jesus is greater than." This series will be a quick walk through Hebrews. We will examine some huge obstacles in our lives as we look as some of the struggles the Jews had in following Christ while holding onto the old. These things were good things but things Jesus came to fulfill. We often find ourselves trusting in things too much....these things are not bad really, just not the ultimate. The hope through this series is that students and leaders will discover that Jesus is greater than anything and anyone from anywhere. It's Jesus and then everything else. Too many time we trust the messenger more than the message, we trust the influencer more than the actual influence, or maybe we trust in the gift more than the giver. There are so many good things in our lives but we must be careful to not allow these things to become ultimate....greatest. That place and title belong to only one, Jesus. Here are the notes from last night to help you follow along a bit more. ![]()
ROCK SHIRTSWe've had some interest in some Rock shirts lately and wanted to let you know we are beginning the design and set up process. We definitely like seeing The Rock SM walking around West Georgia but also realize the financial stress of "Hey mom I want a shirt!" Sorry to add one other thing. We'll begin our advertisement and start accepting orders as early as next week and will last for a few weeks. Our order will only include pre-paid shirts. Short sleeve will be $15 and exactly like the Rock Shirts from two years ago. (Red & Grey) Long sleeve will be $20, comfort color in two shirt colors, new design. Be watching instagram for updates on the shirt styles. Devotion GuidesWe are hoping to begin writing new devotions for our students in the near future. In the meantime we have plenty of past devotions on our website. These are all written in house and seek to walk students through the Word. The list of devotions can be found here.
Also, these are great when viewing through ibooks or kindle! I believe that's it! Hope you all have a great weekend! Chris
