Happy Spring! And just as I type that the temperature begins to plummet and we're all brought back to the harsh reality of winter. Maybe not! We have a ton of stuff coming up in the next few weeks and we'll get to that in a moment. Before we get to that I'd like to recap our time together last night and our series "Not a Fan." This series is a gut punch spiritually but also a reality check. The series is designed to properly define what it means to follow Christ. What are Jesus' expectations of us following Him? Last night we looked at the cost involved in following. There was an illustration that helped us see Jesus desires to be the center, not a component. He desires to be the dresser not one simple drawer that goes into the dresser. Jesus can't be one of many things we do, He must be the thing we are and hope to pursue. Everything else falls into line behind Him, in Him, because of Him. Until we see that and buy into that we are simply fans of Jesus, not a follower of Him. Hard truths. For more hard truths I'd encourage you to read our passage from last night, Luke 14:25-33 and ask this....what poit is Jesus trying to make? What is required of a disciple? Upcoming EventsMarch is going to be busy and it all gets started this weekend with the GIMC.
Have a great weekend and don't forget our GIMC going on. BIG INVITE: Saturday morning, 8-10a at Central Middle School Missionary Hang: Saturday night, 6:30-8:00p at The Rock
