Happy Thursday - its a beautiful day! Hope your week is going great!

Last night -
Man. Last night was emotional, fun, well-deserved, exciting time as we hung out with the Altmans for their final night in the Rock! It really was a great time and if you didn't get to see them off, don't worry they haven't gone far! The Altmans have been a crucial asset to the Rock for 22 years! It is terribly sad to see them go but know that God is going to use them to great things no doubt!
If you missed last night, check out the live stream below!
We will jump back into our series in the Sermon on the Mount next Wednesday night!
Can't wait to see you there!
A quick thanks...
I know, it seems like every time you turn around there's another "statement" from Chris. I promise this is the last one, in this capacity. I wanted to thank you as parents for allowing me to play a small role in the life of your student(s). I'm not sure how I could say it in a way that would fully communicate the depth and the love we have for them and you. It was with great care that we took that responsibility very seriously. We never attempted to replace you, simply compliment. We were thankful to be a part of your village. We fully anticipate continuing that role, though in a different way for sure.
We came here as kids ourselves, we learned how to parent by watching the youth parents. We further developed our parenting skills by watching many of you. You understand that could mean that we chose to not do what you were doing right? Only kidding. It's crazy to think of all the transitions we've made during our time here and how much we learned by this Rock SM community/family. I believe my "youth ministering" changed a bit once my own kids entered The Rock. If nothing else, it was a great reminder to ensure what we were doing was the right thing, done the right way. There's a lot to be said by having a youth parent as a youth pastor/leader. It helps to keep the main thing the main thing.
I won't go on, Andrew has plenty of stuff to let you know about. I simply wanted to say thank you and I pray our love for you and your worth to us has been communicated during the time we've known each other. Please pray for us and know we'll be praying for you.

UP AND COMING:
CAMP - A few new things to communicate this week about camp!
This week we have implemented a price change for camp. Originally, we were going to be limited on the number we could take because of social distancing regulations. However, now that those have lifted we are able to take more and thus lower the price for camp.
Camp cost is currently $200 ($215 after May 19th - $230 after June 13th).
Full payment is due June 27th. You are free to pay early and are more than welcome to pay in payments. If you want to sponsor a student please let me know (firstname.lastname@example.org)!
For more details and/or to register check out our camp page HERE!
GRADUATE QUESTIONNAIRE - The registration sheets can be found at HERE and at each welcome desk in the church. We have added the opportunity for the graduating student to set up a table in the church for members, family and friends to stop by and say congrats. This also makes a great opportunity of out reach for family and friends to come for.
VBS VOLUNTEERS - Michael Lee and the Firehouse are in need of some volunteers for VBS. If you or your student would be interested in serving in that way, you can let us know or let Michael Lee know directly at email@example.com. This is a great way to serve!
BASKETBALL CAMP VOLUNTEERS - Garrett and the recreation team need volunteers for Basketball Camp the week of VBS. You don't have to know anything about basketball, there are always ways in which you can serve!
FIREHOUSE TAKEOVER – On May 23rd the RockSM will takeover the Firehouse. Those who volunteer will spend time with the students in the Firehouse playing games, leading worship, and helping set a great example for the kiddos. If your student wants to help tell them to sign-up in the Rock at the INVOLVE board!
SERVING IN FOUNDATIONS - Another opportunity to serve is in Foundations. If you are interested in doing this on a rotation, or even just giving it a shot, you can sign-up at the INVOLVE board or let us know!
There is a bunch of exciting stuff going on we don't want you to miss - make sure you keep a check on your inbox and text messages.
(this is also a remind - if you don't currently get text messages from us throughout the week or emails from us shoot me an email and we can fix that - firstname.lastname@example.org)
Love ya, see you soon!
Why a blog?
A great way for parents and ministry to connect and continue the conversation of what's going on at The Rock.
